Power of Coffee & Tea

Thursday, March 30th, 2006

Bet you! never and never under estimate what can a cup of coffee or tea brings to you. Worse is the combination of both. I used to be a coffee addict when I was working in Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Every morning before I work, no matter how I must have a cup of Mocha Latte. Not that it’s free (but the fact that it is), just that it will keep me working for long. Especially for that kind of job… Everything are included. From making to serving coffee, then cleaning to mocking the floor… Now, things are totally different. I am among the few thousand guys out there clearing my leave, waiting my ORD to come, if not for my night class, there is actually nothing for me to do the whole day. So, I am enjoying those kind of life that I need not need to sweat. But coz of a report that I need to hand in 2molo… I drank a cup of coffee ice blend from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and had a cup of green tea while I was doing my report at home. That’s enough power to keep me awake for the whole night. Yes, I must say I have finished the whole report but when time I really need that rest… I cant… I still so awake… writing this blog at this odd timing in the morning abt 0135 hrs. Sigh… time need to re-consider my decision again next time when I take in coffee again.. Cant resist the temptation…

Feeling lost

Saturday, March 25th, 2006

Oh man… I am totally lost… At least in my mind… I am doing a report and running out of ideas how to progress. In my mind, I pictured it in a way it is quite good in my mind but cant bring it out to reality… Sigh… Sianz… How am I going to kick start my ‘brain’ again?

Headache

Monday, March 20th, 2006

erm.. not really a big headache but just that I have to rush a project which I set the deadline to be by this weekend. Actually it used to be another grp member of mine to do but coz the 1st draft was rejected due to wrong analysis of market. The project guideline stated China market but I think my grp missed the correction my letcurer did. He changed it to Singapore market as it is easier and much much smaller to do. Imagine China… With so many provinces… Doing an analysis on Shanghai can kill and luckily we consulted the lecturer earlier… Otherwise, our report can be as thick as China annual report… haha.. Just kidding. Anyway, got to go back to work.. No more ‘funny business’ for me this week…

Dental appointment

Thursday, March 9th, 2006

Sigh… After such a long time, finally today (10/03/06) I visited a dentist since I enlisted to natioanl service. Damn it… It was a damn painful experience. Really…

It all started few days ago, think it was Tuesday (07/03), I started to have this pain on my left upper tooth whenever I chew on that side. At first, I thought it wasnt that serious, so I didnt make an appointment on the following day. But as days go by before my appointment date (10/03), the pain grew stronger whenever I eat. But the pain was "manage-able"…

On that actual day of the appointment, after I registered at the counter, I sat on the sofa waiting for my turn to go in. While waiting,  a girl walked out from a treatment room with cotton stick inside her mouth… Then, I started to feel a bit ‘uneasy’… In the way, mine is also a tooth pain and will I end up like her? A while after she came out, my turn to go in and in my mind, I did pray that I wont have the same ending…

After the dentist looked at my tooth… She told me my tooth was decay but she cant determine the degree of decay until a X-ray is done. But she did told me there are three options. 1st option is doing a root removal… which means she going to remove my that particular tooth root! ‘Oh man….’ and 2nd option is definitely a tooth removal… I was shocked but I told her please do a X-ray and we see how… as for 3rd option, I told her pls put in whatever the best medicine inside that tooth and see whether it improves. In the end, I chose the 3rd option and I think of all the option, the 3rd one gave me the most pain… I was like sitting on an electrical chair everytime she did some kind of patching up in that tooth… … …

The moral of the story is… Better maintain a healthy set of teeth and not to suffer any unnecessary pain…

Sigh… what a day…

Really what a day for me… ‘Kena’ called back to do detail while I am clearing my offs is a bit irritating, yet while I was on my way to camp in the morning, I had this terrible stomach pain that make me feel how important a toilet can be… at least at that point of time…

It all started when I was taking my breakfast.. I had a cup of cereal and a ham with egg sandwish. As everyone knows, for morning people… Time is the most important factor and for people like me, missing a bus will definitely be late to camp. Anyway, I still end up late for camp… I actually put three pieces of ice cubes to my cereal and maybe coz of that… some kind of chemical reaction between Hot & Cold (dont think it makes sense).. my stomach reacted at the wrong time.

Back to the detail… when I stepped into camp, another guy who supposingly clearing offs but kena called back told me that the detail cancelled… At that moment, I was like… erm… April fool hasnt come yet right…

Resting period

Sunday, March 5th, 2006

Yeah, finally I can clear my offs and leaves before my Operational-Ready-Date (ORD). From now till 11 April 06, I have exactly about one month worth of time to do things that I wanted to do for so long. Or I should say I miss those things that I normally do before I enlist. Plenty of things beside exercising…

Things like hanging out, watching movies, tidy up my room… It may be a common, normal activities but I feel it is totally different. Because while I am still under military, whenever I go out, I have to worry whether any emerency call back to camp or have to return home early due to duty in camp the following day. So, now, I dont have much worries except sometimes, feel unsecure when I receive calls from camp..

Anyway, I should be more than happy to say that I have accomplished something important in life and that’s national service. But frankly speaking, in the future, if I can avoid my sons to serve NS, I believe I will do so… Definitely… 2 years mean a lot and especially in this world. Time is precious.

Up to date PC system

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

As technology is so advanced in the today’s world, it is quite hard to keep up with the fast moving IT esp for small players like us. Recently, I have finally fulfill my long time wish of upgrading my current PC. It costs me a few hundreds hard-save money which eventually burn a big hole in my account book. Sigh..

Few upgrades done to my PC…

1st, a new speaker and a webcam. I must thanks one of my night class classmate who worked in Creative. Few days before he resigned, he informed the whole class who wanted to get any Creative products since he may get it at staff price. Definitely worth the trip to Creative HQ as it saves me S$70+.

2nd, a new DVD+/- R/RW ROM drive and Bluetooth adapter. As both items are getting common nowadays, CD ROM may be outdated and share the same fate as floppy disk…

As time passes, think most likely I may have to re-calculate my budget again for my PC. haha… Those items that I mention will definitely start to phase out as new technology emerge. So, better save more now and be mentally prepare for another hole in my account book.
