Today (1st April 05) is the first time i am going to KL. Beside JB… i doubt i havnt been to any other places in Malaysia. As i am not a true Singaporean… i dont really have the interest in Malaysia only after this trip. Applied leave for this special occassion as my dad is going down to KL with one of his friends to view their property bought as my mum ‘dump’ my dad in Singapore and went back to HK for 2 weeks for holidays..
Woke up at 0530 and left my house at 0600. Drove down to CCK to pick up my dad’s friends before heading to Woodland checkpoint. Everything was fine and the journey was smooth as we depart early. But today is the 1st time i ever drove more than 400 km ever since i got my license 2 yrs ago. The driving was shared between my dad and i. So total, we drove abt 800+ km. Amazing man and especially the speed that i drove at KL is super. Driving at average speed of 140 km/hr and sometime i even go up to 150+ km/hr. The feeling is good and i think that’s the only way to know whether you have well-spent on your car. Haha..
Upon reaching KL… the time abt 11+. Beside an early exit from the expressway which turn to be the wrong one, we hardly caught up with any jam. Just that looking out for the apartment is abit tough as it is located somehow on the hill and there is only one road going there.
The apartment looks extremely old as it started building 10 yrs ago and the company suffered a big loss during the 97 economic crusis. It has been empty for at least 3 yrs after all the architectural work are done. So the internal finish and all the facilities are somehow look old and need a lot of touch up. But there are people living there. All thanks to a Nurimg School near by where they offerred the students and lecturers cheap accomodation which my dad and his friend planning to do with their property. Sigh.. but as an educated Civil & Structural Engineer… the workmanship of the apartment is way too far to comment. Everything left by the last contractor are so badly install or touch up that i think the best way to tear down the whole building and re-build again. Anyway, after checking all the defects, the time was abt 1700+ which ws time to head back to S’pore.
Sigh.. this time round, didnt really feel the KL’s city life as it was a rush trip there and back. But hopefully, will start to plan for some trip with my friends when i am going to finish my NS. Stuffs in KL are DAMP CHEAP or i should say in Malaysia. Especially petrol. So i think definitely there will be more trip there.
